My dreams and goals of life are to protect and take care of wildlife and the planet.  I make sure to teach these ideals to my nephew, who now picks up trash with me on our days at the beach so that the animals can't choke on it! He is being raised to help clean and protect the planet. I also have volunteered for years at a bird rescue where we help treat wounds that come from fishing lines, etc. This rescue has helped rehabilitate more pelicans than any facility worldwide, and I'm able to be a part of that by tending to the wounded. I've recently spent time at an internship as a zookeeper at Wildlife Safari in Oregon, and was able to help promote Cheetah & Lion conservation, as well as take care of several of them. Getting to know these animals personally is amazing. We also took guests on special encounters to see the animals up close and personal and teach them about the breeding programs and the purpose of them. It always has more impact on people if they are standing in front of the animal and looking into their eyes. I want to continue on this path and bring awareness to everyone I can, even in passing conversation. My nephew is amazed at what I got to do at my internship, and says he will do the same when he grows up. He wants to work with pandas and knows that they are endangered and need human help.
